About
Michael Drugowitsch and his former partner Paul Burkhard started their dream of producing tortillas in Switzerland in 1995. It was a leap into the deep end. They had to face challenges including accounting and making investment plans – not to mention selling tortillas. “When we first started out, there wasn’t enough money to pay our salaries. It was only thanks to the help of others that we weren’t sleeping under a bridge!”...
Products
MiAdelita is the largest producer of fresh corn tortillas and tortilla chips in Switzerland. Around half of the products are produced according to organic quality standards. Our range also includes wheat tortillas, salsas and other Mexican products.
For our stone ground tortilla chips, the moist corn is cooked in food-grade lime before its ground in a lava stone mill. The dough is shaped into triangles, baked, deep-fried, seasoned and packaged. Our STONE GROUND CHIPS have a unique taste.
Sale
Our products are available at retail stores, specialised organic stores, selected resellers or as semi-finished products in numerous Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants. Around half of the products are produced according to organic quality standards. We are certified according to the FSSC22'000 food safety standard and our corn products have the gluten-free and vegan label.
Recipes
Mexico’s food is as colourful as its art, as exciting as its music, as dramatic as its history and as welcoming as its warm-hearted people. Fresh tortillas are the basis of many Mexican specialities and, together with the chili, give the dishes their unique flavour. Tortillas can be used in many different ways.

These are good, evenly shaped and cooked triangles with a light corn aroma. The texture is first class - very crunchy and lightly salted, which make them a very moreish snack on their own and perfect as a dip because of their prolonged crunch. The flavour of corn is long lingering and even suggestive of a little smoky chilli flavours that would naturally accompany them.
These are beautifully made - water thin and crisp, with just enough salt, and real crunch. They would be a great carrier for anything, from salsa or guacamole to hummus. There is real skill in producing a simple product with so much clarity of flavour.
Unique in appearance - really dark with a nicely puffy, irregular surface - These tortilla chips have a toasty, corny smell. We thought the best thing about them was the exemplary light crispness, The toastiness continues in the flavour.
These surprisingly dark golden-coloured tortilla chips have a smoked paprika aroma. The Judges noted the thinness and crispness of these tortilla chips and found the smoky flavour well judged. Very moreish, said the judges.
